We collect the following types of information:
Receipt images and related data When you scan a receipt, the app uses your device’s camera. The image and the text extracted from it (merchant name, date, amount, etc.) are processed primarily on your device.
Expense records Information you enter or that is automatically extracted (amounts, categories, notes, dates).
Device information Basic technical data such as device type, operating system version, and app version (used for improving the app and fixing bugs).
Usage data Anonymous analytics about how the app is used (e.g. features accessed, crash reports).
We do not collect your name, email address, or precise location unless you voluntarily provide them.
We use the information to:
Provide and improve the Receiptly app
Process receipts and organise your expenses
Enable optional features such as export and cloud sync (if you choose to use them)
Display relevant advertisements (in the free version)
Fix bugs and improve performance
Receipt images and expense data are stored locally on your device by default.
If you enable cloud sync (Pro feature), your data may be stored in your personal iCloud or Google account.
On-device text recognition (OCR) is performed using Apple’s Vision framework or equivalent on-device technology. The images are not sent to our servers for processing.
We use the following third-party services:
Google AdMob – to show advertisements in the free version
Google Play Billing / Apple StoreKit – to process in-app purchases
Firebase / Google Analytics (optional) – for anonymous crash reporting and usage analytics
These services may collect certain device and usage data according to their own privacy policies.
We only share data with third-party service providers when necessary to operate the app (as listed above), or if required by law.
You can:
Delete your expense data and receipt images at any time within the app
Request deletion of any data associated with your account by contacting us
Opt out of personalised advertising through your device settings
Our apps are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.
